A quick post today - I thought I'd post a small selection of impressive landslide images that I have come across recently:
Landslides resulting from deforestation in Taraza, Antioquia, Colombia, from here.
A long runout landslide from Sichuan in China, from here.
After effects of a landslide on the island of Ibiza in Spain, from here.
Dear Professsor, I congratulate him on his blog. Are stunning images. Here in Brazil we have a history of landslides in the hills occupied illegally in big cities. Lately rural areas of southern Brazil has also suffered with these occurrences. Believed to be related to an increase in the concentration of the rains, because in many areas affected by landslides are covered by native vegetation. Hence the issue is the flooding of the soil by rainwater. I am a geographer from Brazil and an aficionado of Geosciences in general, particularly by natural disasters. Later.
