Just briefly read what is an excellent report. I wonder if a controlled outburst was allowed with another dam downstream south of Gilgit diverting some of the water off into the dry mainly barren land there, with some form of herring bone seepage channels would limit sedimentation at Tarbela and damage on the way there. apologies for my frankness.
